Protection from Insiders:
Considering that before carrying out a costly attack, the enemy will require the insider to prove the effectiveness of your production. The StaffCounter system for Windows will prevent information leakage through commonly used browsers and will also prevent the writing of critical secret data to removable media. Additionally, Windows security will prevent the installation of applications on your computer from the Internet or removable media. This way, you will protect your production from viruses and hacking programs.

StaffCounter programs for Linux, Windows, and macOS can record user-typed text, which, in retrospect, can identify insiders and people solving their problems at work.

The StaffCounter service is protected from the inside with end-to-end encryption. This means that the data reaches the server in encrypted form. No hacker who gains access to the server or an employee’s computer can obtain data about the employee’s activities since the StaffCounter agent records it in an already encrypted form. Data decryption is possible only in the web browser of the manager or director, who monitors the results on the server.

StaffCounter is the most inexpensive solution for ensuring production safety, costing only $1-3 per device/month.

Preserving an archive of the activity of a resigned employee
The Staffcounter server stopped deleting old data from devices not working the previous weekday.
In this way, an archive of the work of employees who left their jobs is preserved. Why is this necessary? For retrospective investigation of data breaches.
It is unlikely that an employee engaged in intellectual espionage would remain at work after completing his mission. Most likely, to avoid punishment, he will try to leave work immediately after he has done his evil deed.

If an employee suddenly leaves, management should be suspicious, and we do not recommend immediately deleting his virtual device from the server. Let there be some more time. You can move such devices to a separate department.

Typically, the storage time for data and files in the Standard package is 105 days, and in the Professional package - 180. This will be the case for computers that work every day. However, the server will not clear devices that have stopped sending data. This will be a kind of archive for internal security. If the management considers storing it inappropriate, they can clear it anytime or delete the virtual device altogether.

If you plan to save money and not expand your Staffcounter subscription when hiring a new employee to replace the old one, you can delete the old employee's virtual device and connect a new one in his place.
However, modern business experience recommends keeping the activity history of a resigned employee for at least another six months.

In the records of his activity, essential contacts, URLs, and email addresses can be saved, which can be helpful for the enterprise's further activity and the person who comes to replace the departed specialist.

Thus, if one device in your Staffcounter account stops working and sending data, the Staffcounter server will store its old data until the end of the paid subscription and will not delete it after 105 or 180 days. You can transfer this device to the "Dismissed Employees" department and retrospectively evaluate the activities of the departed employee and identify his contacts and information resources used.

However, if data starts flowing to this device again, the subscription rules will limit the storage period, and the old data will begin to be deleted.

To prevent this, you must avoid subsequent data loading into this device; for example, change its device ID on the server or remove the StaffCounter program from the departing employee's computer.
