After 7 days of intensive work, the FIVB Development Referees Programme hosted by Malawi has successfully concluded today, 1st July 2026.
The course was organized in cooperation with Malawi Volleyball Federation and under the supervision of the FIVB as part of the “FIVB Volleyball Empowerment” Knowledge Transfer Programme.
This edition brought together 21 participants including 4 female referees, who participated in both theoretical and practical sessions throughout the programme.
The course was conducted by:
Mr. Waleed Abdelsamad Member of the FIVB Rules of the Game& Refereeing Commission, FIVB Referee Coach& Instructor, and Secretary of the CAVB Refereeing Commission.
Over the past 7 days, participants attended comprehensive theoretical lectures covering all Rules of the Game and officiated matches in the official Malawi league allowing them to apply and demonstrate their refereeing skills on court.
Certificates were provided to the participants in existence of Ms. Suzan Mbenjere, the manager of the sports council office and Mr. James kaunda president of the Malawi Volleyball Federation, who thanked the
CAVB and FIVB for their appreciated efforts.
