When we say ‘friend’, we mean someone, who we know, who shares our principles, views. A person, with who you have a strong connection and most likely have some common experience🤩.
At the same time, ‘acquaintance’ stands for a person, who you might see on daily basis😉, but there is nothing in common between both of you.
So, a FRIEND is a person from your surrounding, with who you communicate. And an ACQUAINTANCE is a person you barely know, see from time to time.
