Today we mark Global Ethics Day by bringing your attention to an article celebrating a decade of the International Consensus Framework to foster ethical collaboration. FIP has contributed to this piece, published in Health Policy Watch, along with the International Alliance of Patient Organizations, the International Council of Nurses, the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations, the International Hospital Federation and the World Medical Association. The framework was established to: put patients first, support ethical research and innovation, ensure independence and ethical conduct, and promote transparency and accountability. Chronic non-communicable diseases represent a global health challenge. Prevention and management of chronic diseases depend on reducing underlying risk factors. Community pharmacists and their teams are ideally placed to raise awareness of chronic diseases, identify those at risk and be the driving force behind earlier detection and referral to primary care partners for screening, diagnosis and intervention.
