In the south of Morocco it has snowed for the first time in thirty years. After decades of extremely dry weather, the inhabitants of cities like Ouarzazate, Taroudant and Zagora saw that everything was covered under a white layer.

Ouarzazate is considered the gateway to the Sahara. There fell a few centimeters, but in the area of ​​Amzri and Imdrasse in some places even a pack of snow of 30 centimeters was measured.

The weather service in Morocco says that the snow comes in the region due to cold air flows from northern Europe. That drop in temperature leads to rain and snow in parts of Morocco. The cold probably lasts until Thursday.
