Ait-Ben-Haddou is the most famous ksar, Inside the defensive walls, houses crowd together - made out of clay. The oldest constructions appeared in the 17th century. About 98 families lived in the Ksar until the 1940s. Nowadays, only five families live in Kasbah Ait Benhaddou. In 1987, the UNESCO designated Ait Benhaddou Ksar as a world heritage. Game of Thrones, Laurence of Arabia and Gladiator were filmed in the Ksar.
