Last week, agencies across the 27Names network came together for our 2nd annual Community Day. This year’s theme was More Than a Meal, based on a simple belief: a meal is rarely just a meal. It’s connection. It’s conversation. It’s belonging.

For many of us, lunch is routine. A quick break between meetings or something we grab between calls. But sharing a meal has always meant more than just eating. It’s where relationships form, conversations happen, and communities grow. At the same time, access to a reliable meal is something many people still struggle with.

That’s why our agencies across Europe spent the day organizing community lunches & dinners, supporting food-related charities, raising donations, volunteering their time, and bringing people together around a table.

What has truly blown us away is the heart, creativity, and care that went into every activity. No two initiatives looked the same, yet each reflected the same desire to make a positive impact in their local communities.

To every agency that participated: thank you for embracing the idea and making it your own.

From the beginning, Community Day was about more than what happens within our network. It was about showing how a simple act can bring people together and inspire action. We hope the stories from this year’s Community Day encourage others to find their own ways to create a positive impact in their communities.

This week, our agencies will come together across Europe for our second annual Community Day. This year’s theme: More Than a Meal. Because a meal is rarely just a meal. It can be time shared. Conversation started. Dignity restored. A moment of belonging.

On May 27th, our agencies will take part in local initiatives shaped by their own communities; from community lunches and cooking initiatives to volunteering, fundraising, food collection, and partnerships with local charities and shelters.

And one day later, on May 28th, the world turns its attention to a challenge that goes far beyond food for World Hunger Day. This year’s World Hunger Day celebrates the contributions we all make: the hands that plant seeds, lift others up, learn new skills, build solutions, share knowledge, raise voices and open new futures.

We know one day won’t solve a global issue. But we believe small actions, especially when taken together, still matter.
