5 mistakes we often see on projects without 3D scanning
Even “simple” buildings can hide serious issues. Here are the top 5 mistakes we commonly find when laser scanning wasn't used:
1️⃣ Curved or slanted walls — drawings say one thing, reality another.
2️⃣ Missed elements — pipes, recesses, beams are not measured.
3️⃣ Wrong ceiling heights — especially in older buildings.
4️⃣ Missing openings — like windows or ducts, discovered too late.
5️⃣ Repeat site visits — to remeasure or correct missing details.
📌 One 3D scan = a complete, accurate digital copy of your space.

🇬🇧 Laser Distance Meter or 3D Scanner? They may look similar — but they’re worlds apart.
🟥 A laser measurer is great for quick checks: door width, ceiling height.
But it can’t “see” the space, doesn’t capture geometry, and requires manual note-taking.
✅ A 3D laser scanner captures everything — floors, walls, ceilings, angles — in just minutes.
It gives you ready-to-use CAD data, models, drawings, and more.
We wrote a clear, side-by-side comparison with real project examples — so you know when to use what.

🎭 Riga. A stage that depends on millimeter precision.
This project took us to a theatre right in the heart of the capital. Complex geometry, multi-level spaces, technical zones, stage equipment, backstage, seating areas… and all of it inside a historic building where even the slightest measurement error could become a major issue.
We carried out a full 3D laser scan of the theatre using the Leica RTC360, with the goal of capturing every structural element in high detail for future engineering and renovation planning.
📍 What we delivered:
➤ a high-precision point cloud (up to 2 mm accuracy),
➤ detailed drawings of stage structures and audience seating,
➤ an interactive 3D virtual tour of the interior,
➤ BIM-ready data for architects and engineers.
Working in spaces like this is always a challenge. It's not just about geometry — it's about flow, access, equipment, acoustics. Our digital approach helps project teams start from a clear, verified visual and spatial foundation.
