National Shelter Appreciation Week 2020 ended with a shelter dog headed to the White House!

For the first time in years, there will be pets in the White House again: Champ and Major, two beautiful German Shepherds.

The family adopted Major from our national shelter partner, the Delaware Humane Association, after seeing a post about a litter of German Shepherd puppies being surrendered in critical medical condition.

“We are so happy to welcome Major to the Biden family, and we are grateful to the Delaware Humane Association for their work in finding forever homes for Major and countless other animals,” the Bidens said in a statement at the time.
