Every piece of amber washed ashore carries the weight of an ancient memory.
We are proud to share a glimpse of Amber Tale, an animated short film deeply rooted in Baltic folklore. The film explores the forbidden love bond between a goddess and a mortal - a narrative space where breathtaking beauty and devastating tragedy inevitably collide.
Director Gediminas Šiaulys approached the storytelling through a unique vertical world model, assigning distinct elemental forces to each character: Jūratė represents water, Kastytis represents earth, and Perkūnas represents fire. At the center of it all stands the primordial element tree - the axis uniting all three forces.
The goal was to make the viewing experience feel like looking at a fine piece of jewelry through a magnifying glass. To achieve this level of microscopic texture and atmospheric depth, utilizing advanced 3D technique was the natural choice.
Animatrix is incredibly proud to be one of the two studios driving the 3D animation production for this visually striking project, alongside a fantastic team of creators and producers.

We are very excited to finally reveal the official trailer for our original short animated film Stolen Colors.
This film has been a creative journey for Animatrix, built with an incredible team and the support of talented collaborators who helped shape it into something we are truly proud of. Stolen Colors is more than a short film to us. It stands alongside the work we create for our partners, and it gave us the space to develop something from the ground up - a story we could explore, and carry all the way through on our own terms.
Every part of the film, from story and design to animation, was developed in-house by our team. It reflects how we approach storytelling when we build it ourselves: with care, precision, and a strong focus on both craft and meaning. The film was produced by Dovydas Vilkelis directed by Gaute Hesthagen and co-produced with Fante Film and Zographic Films, with Tomas Juchnevič as co-director within Animatrix. Together, the project grew into something far beyond its starting point through close collaboration at every stage.
We are incredibly proud of what our team has built. Stolen Colors represents where Animatrix stands today - not only as a trusted production partner for animation and VFX, but as a studio capable of developing and delivering original stories.

Last winter we were asked to deliver over 60 VFX shots for Kongsberg Protechting People and Planet campaign in 8 weeks period. However the bigger challenge was that we did not even know what exactly we will have to do. And oh boy what an adventure that was - shooting in Buenos Aires and far north in Norway, creating fully computer generated space and underwater environments, developing unique motion graphic asset called The Force and many many more no less interesting tasks. Big thanks to Fantefilm and director Gaute Hesthagen for this amazing journey! Animatrix would be just a title without its amazing team, so thank you guys for making this happen!
