We now are counting 60 container vessels waiting outside the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. Clearly - the congestion problems continue to worsen and not improve.

TO put it in perspective, in a perfect world where the global supply chain is running smooth, there would be no vessele anchored in the water and all vessels whould being worked at the docs.

But this need to be thought through in terms of next riople effects.

This congestion issue slows down the place with which empty containers can be moved back to Asia.
And all the vessels waiting in this long queue right now are highly unlikely to be able to come back to Asia In time for the next planned head haul departures - which in turn might result in wave of blank, or at least postponed, sailings down the line. This will coincide with the usual seasonal market slump after Chinese Golden Week holodays - and if this normal demand seasonality plays out, however, it will also efects and all cargo movement to Europe.

Significant supply chain delays will definitely continue through 2021 for sure and through at least Chinese New Year/Q1 2022 so plan and manage your customets expectations accordingly.
