POOR PEOPLE ARE THE SOURCE OF THE WEALTH OF THE RICH.
NB - Food For Thought
If you sell food worth M40 to 20 customers each day, and you do this for 20 days per month:
Per day:
M40 Γ 20 customers = M800
Per month:
M800 Γ 20 days = M16,000
Per year:
M16,000 Γ 12 months = M192,000
Over 10 years:
M192,000 Γ 10 = M1,920,000
So, your total sales over 10 years would be M1,920,000, assuming the price, number of customers, and selling days remain the same.
Keep in mind that M1.92 million is revenue, not profit. Your actual wealth would depend on your expenses (ingredients, rent, transport, wages, etc.) and how much of your profit you save and reinvest. If you consistently reinvest your profits to grow the business, your revenue and profit could increase over time, potentially resulting in much more than M1.92 million.
The broader idea, that many successful businesses earn small amounts from many customers over a long period, is a common business principle. It isn't specifically about poor people being the source of the wealth of the rich; businesses of all sizes generate wealth by creating value for customers across different income levels. Sustained sales, careful saving, and reinvestment are often more important than trying to make large profits quickly.
