Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow; it only saps today of its strength. If you can deal with it today, then do it today. If you can't deal with it today, then don't worry about it today but deal with it tomorrow when you can.

The legal fraternity in Lesotho is nearing complete disaster. So much for a profession once known and touted as the noble profession. Systematic problems that that span many years have rendered the delivery of justice a far fetched and forlon hope for many basotho. This include inadequate resourcing for the judiciary but of late it is also the calibre of practitioners who are a serious concern. Although there is a body that regulates practitioners, it is seemingly toothless and/or has been mostly ineffective over the years. I am not sure if lawyers are taught ethical course during that training because what we are seeing in practice points to not only lack of ethics but also moral bankruptcy.
The back log of cases in all the courts structures is a serious concern that gets worse each year with none of the political authorities committed to solve it in earnest. Instead, political authorities have meddled in judicial appointments improperly over the years and that has left the judiciary appearing to be captured in the eyes of certain sections of the public. We will one day lose all hope for the credibility of the whole system and become a failed state unless something drastic is done.

The festive season while very good for business, also brings specific business risks especially fraud related. In a series of posts we will tackle a few.
