SEEING THE PAIN OF A PARENT is realizing that it’s a different kind of pain. Depending on the situation, it can be the kind of pain that is so sharp you feel it in your soul.
But just because it can be a sharp pain doesn’t mean children should be overprotected from it. Because when then they get old enough to require less shielding at a stage where life demands that they become more emotionally intelligent, they need to see the pain of their parents to reinforce the development of compassion and resilience and to see that though their parents are their pillars they are still people.

THE OLDER I GET the more I feel like having the consideration to care about asking questions like these is such a LOVE LANGUAGE because you’ve essentially shown that you are attentive about one’s basic needs…which is food.❤️
