Thanks to the National Commission on Higher Education through its Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Prof. Dr. Ansu Sonii for the called meeting held on yesterday, July 29, 2020 with all Higher Education Institutions within the Republic of Liberia.
The Meeting which was geared towards "Proposing Strategies for Reopening in Observance of Covid-19 Health Protocols and Safety Measures on Campus" was held at the University of Liberia Fendell Campus with over 37 recognized Higher Educational Institutions in attendance including the Minister of Education.
Several strategies and health measures in furtherance of the Ministry of Health and the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) Protocols were proposed for consideration leading to the reopening of schools tentatively in September or October 2020.
Meanwhile, it was also agreed upon and recommended by the Minister of Education and the HEIs that while we await the official pronouncement for reopening, administrators of Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) can now begin preparatory works on their various campuses that will lead to a successful resumption of classes upon the pronouncement by MOE through the Ministry of Health, Republic of Liberia.
Thanks to our two administrative staff, Dr. Shalom S. M. Nimene and Derrrick P. Barshell for their full representations on behalf of the Barshell University. Thanks also to all of our team of professional staff and lecturers as well as our dedicated and resilient students for their continuous supports as we go through the process of getting our youth and others back to school.
Stay alert and stay safe!
God bless you!
