September 21 each year is declared as International Day of Peace. The United Nations General Assembly in September 1981, commemorated the day of Peace by Resolution 55/282. The day is dedicated to supporting the ideals of Peace, both within and among all nations and people's, and therefore urges member states to ensure its observance. As a Liberian-based non-governmental organization, the Volunteers for Sustainable Development in Africa (VOSIEDA) joined Liberia and other countries in the peaceful observance of the day. Therefore, as we celebrate this year's International Day of Peace ahead of our Presidential and Legislative elections on October 10, 2023, let us avoid violence and work together in maintaining our fragile peace for Sustainable development.

Every Liberian must answer to the call of PEACE, knowing that peace first, peace last and peace forever.

Kindly join us as we host the Honorable Commissioner of West Point Township, one of the biggest slum communities in Monrovia, Liberia.

Doing our discussion we will look at issues of national concerns and the impact of COVID-19 on the community, as we also check the transparency and accountability in the response process in the community.
