Sabah’s Reflection
Sabah was the kind of girl who turned heads wherever she went. Her beauty was undeniable flawless skin, enchanting eyes, and a smile that could melt hearts. From a young age, she had been showered with compliments. "You're so beautiful," they would say, "You don’t need to worry about anything in life." And Sabah believed them.
While other girls studied late into the night or learned new skills, Sabah focused on her looks. She spent hours perfecting her makeup, choosing the right outfits, and making sure she was always the most beautiful woman in the room. Opportunities came easily people wanted to be around her, men admired her, and she always had a way of getting what she wanted with just a smile.
But beauty alone can only take someone so far.
As the years passed, Sabah started noticing the world moving forward without her. Her friends, once eager to spend time with her, were now busy building their careers, running businesses, or starting families. They talked about investments, leadership, and opportunities conversations that Sabah struggled to contribute to.
At first, she ignored the growing emptiness inside her. "Beauty is power," she told herself. But deep down, she started to realize that beauty fades, and the world does not wait for those who refuse to grow.
One day, she met an old friend, Amina, who had once been quiet and unnoticed. Now, Amina was a successful entrepreneur, confident and independent. "Sabah, what have you been up to?" she asked with genuine curiosity.
Sabah forced a smile. "Just... living."
Amina nodded, sensing the sadness behind her friend’s eyes. "You know, it's never too late to learn, to grow, to create a future beyond just appearance."
That night, Sabah stood in front of the mirror, staring at her reflection. For the first time, she felt something she had never felt before—fear. Fear that she had wasted too much time, fear that her beauty had blinded her from what truly mattered.
And so, with a deep breath, she made a decision. It wasn’t too late to rewrite her story.
Beauty may open doors, but wisdom, knowledge, and self-empowerment keep them open.
