Did you know that the Ministry of Finance & Development Planning (MFDP) has dismissed two of its staff members for corruption? Yes, on May 15, 2024, the Ministry dismissed Eric Arkoi and another individual after they procured two buses worth $211,797, which were never delivered to the Ministry. The buses were intended to transport employees to and from work.

This dismissal followed two investigations that found the pair guilty of wrongdoing and recommended their termination from the Ministry of Finance & Development Planning. They are to be referred to the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) for further investigation.

Angry about his dismissal, Eric Arkoi has launched a smear campaign targeting Deputy Finance & Development Planning Minister Bill McGill Jones. Minister Jones, as part of the management team at MFDP, is implementing reforms and instituting administrative standards to restore the professional integrity of the Ministry of Finance….
