Happy Birthday!!!

In a collaborative effort to support local youth, the Rotary Club of Trincomalee and the Interact Club of Trincomalee Zahira College donated 25 pairs of school shoes to deserving students. This initiative is designed to boost students' confidence and comfort, allowing them to focus fully on their education and future goals. Both clubs share the conviction that providing these basic necessities can significantly impact a child's path to success.

The 47th Charter Day Anniversary Celebration was held on 03 May 2026 at 6.00 p.m. at the Rotary House, Trincomalee. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. N. Mathivannan, Divisional Secretary of Trincomalee Town and Gravets.

President PHF K. Prabakaran warmly welcomed the gathering and briefly highlighted the activities and projects carried out by the club during the past ten months.

During the event, departed Rotarians were respectfully remembered and honoured for their valuable contributions to the Rotary movement.

PP Dr. E.G. Gnanakunalan delivered a brief presentation on the history and development of the Rotary Movement in Trincomalee.

Five senior Rotarians, who had rendered “Service Above Self” for more than 40 years, were honoured in recognition of their dedicated service.

The student who achieved the best results in the Year 5 Scholarship Examination from T/ Shanmuga Hindu Ladies’ School was also felicitated with a cash prize.

Mr. N. Mathivannan, Divisional Secretary of Trincomalee Town and Gravets, delivered the keynote address, sharing his views on future development plans for Trincomalee and the role of Rotary in community service.

The event concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by President-Elect K. Arulvaratharaja.
