The Manufacturing Engineering Association successfully held its Annual General Meeting on 28th January 2026 at E.O.E. Pereira Theater.
Staff members and undergraduates of the Department of Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering came together to reflect on the past year’s achievements 📊, discuss future initiatives 🔍, and elect the new executive committee 🎖️. The event provided a valuable platform for collaboration and strategic planning to strengthen the association’s impact.

✈️ Handing Over Ceremony of the AN-32B Aircraft Engine✈️

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya proudly hosted the Handing Over Ceremony of the AN-32B aircraft engine from the Sri Lanka Air Force to the Faculty of Engineering.

The event was graced by Deputy Chief of Staff, Air Vice Marshal MDAG Senevirathne and lDirector General Aeronautical Engineering, Air Vice Marshal WRDMI Wickramasinghe of Sri Lanka Air Force.

Highlights of the program included:
🔹 Signing of the handing-over and taking-over certificates
🔹 An introductory lecture on Aeronautical Engineering
🔹 A demonstration of the AN-32B aircraft engine conducted by the Sri Lanka Air Force

This collaboration opens new opportunities for students to gain hands-on exposure to real aircraft propulsion systems, strengthening learning and research in aeronautical engineering. ⚙️✈️
