⚡🚗 EV & Household Charging Fire Safety Awareness
As part of our ongoing commitment at Sisaro – Fire Safety Training, Consultation & Fire Protection Services, we continue to promote practical safety awareness for emerging risks.
With the rapid increase of Electric Vehicles and everyday rechargeable devices (e-bikes, scooters, power banks, toys), understanding fire risks and safe charging practices is essential for both households and workplaces.
We are pleased to share a bilingual (Sinhala & English) public awareness leaflet covering:
✔ EV and lithium-ion battery fire risks
✔ Safe charging practices (vehicles & household devices)
✔ Common causes of battery-related fires
✔ Do’s & Don’ts during charging
✔ Emergency response actions

At Sisaro, we believe that awareness is the first step in prevention.
🔥🧯🚒 On 21st FEB 2026, I had the opportunity to give back by conducting a Fire Safety Awareness & Emergency Response Training free of charge for the dedicated staff of Wijaya Kumarthunga Hospital.
✳️A hospital is a place where every second matters—patients may not be able to run, escape, or even react. That is why, before the session, I carried out a fire safety inspection and risk assessment, sharing practical recommendations with the hospital administration to strengthen life safety.
✳️During the session, strong emphasis was placed on correct response actions during the critical initial phase of a fire emergency, until emergency services arrive.
✔️This included
Safe and prioritized patient evacuation,
✔️isolation of electrical power and medical gas systems,
✔️-Roll-call and accountability at assembly points, and coordinated shifting of patients to nearby hospitals where continuity of care is essential.
These early, well-coordinated actions are vital to protect life, control escalation, and ensure operational resilience in a healthcare environment
—while safeguarding vital equipment and facilities—depends on awareness, preparedness, and correct action at the right moment.
✳️Seeing staff actively engage in the live demonstrations reminded me that knowledge saves lives—especially in healthcare settings.
Proud to contribute, even in a small way, toward making our hospitals safer places for everyone.

🙏 As we welcome the New Year — let’s start with safety and preparedness
🔥The recent cyclone in Sri Lanka showed us how quickly disaster can strike, especially when people are unprepared or unaware. This should remind us why every one of us — from school days onward — needs an emergency plan, regular drills, and disaster-awareness education.
Likewise, fire risks are real — at home, at work, anywhere. Understanding fire safety and ensuring adequate active & passive fire protection is essential.
Let this be a call for action for all institutions and organizations — for leadership, planning, training, and awareness.
Here’s to a safer, prepared, and resilient New Year for all!
