Visit Central

The 1st National Sustainable Tourism Conference 2024 (NSTC-2024) organized jointly by the Department of Trade, Commerce and Tourism, Central Province and the Department of Geography, University of Peradeniya was held on 17th December at the Department of Geography, University of Peradeniya.
The abstract book related to the tourism industry of Sri Lanka with special reference to the Central Province, paving new paths for the development of the Central Province tourism industry, was launched on that day.
The Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony was the Chief Secretary of the Central Province, G.H. M. Premasinghe was represented by the Deputy Chief Secretary Secretary, Mrs. Dillipa Rupani Piyadasa, while the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya, Mr. Terence Madujith, participated as the guest of honor. As well as the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and the panel of lecturers, Prof.D.A.C. Silva at the Department of Economics, University of Colombo for conducting the keynote speech of the inauguration, the Provincial Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture, Divisional Secretaries, Professor M.S.M. Aslam from University of Sabaragamuwa and many government officials were participated on this occation.

මධ්‍යම පළාත් සංචාරක දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව විසින් පේරාදෙණිය විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ භූගෝල විද්‍යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ සහයෝගීත්වයෙන් සංවිධානය කරන ලද ප්‍රථම " ජාතික තිරසර සංචාරක පර්යේෂණ සම්මන්ත්‍රණය (NSTC-2024) 2024" දෙසැම්බර් 17 වන දින පේරාදෙණිය විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ භූගෝල විද්‍යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේදී පැවැත්විණි.
මධ්‍යම පළාත් සංචාරක කර්මාන්තයේ උන්නතිය උදෙසා නවමු මංපෙත් විවර කරමින් ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ සංචාරක කර්මාන්තයට අදාලව සිදු කරන ලද පර්යේෂණ සංක්ශිප්ත වාර්තා ඇතුළත් ග්‍රන්ථය එදින එළිදැක්විනි.
මෙම සාමාරම්භක උලෙලේ ප්‍රධාන ආරාධිත අමුත්තා ලෙස මධ්‍යම පළාත් ප්‍රධාන ලේකම් ජී.එච්. එම්. ඒ ප්‍රේමසිංහ මහතා නියෝජනය කරමින් මධ්‍යම පළාත් සහකාර ප්‍රධාන ලේකම් දිලීපා රූපානී පියදාස මහත්මිය සහභාගි වූ අතර විශේශ අමුත්තෙකු ලෙස පේරාදෙණිය විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ උපකුලපති ටෙරන්ස් මදුජිත් මහතා සහභාගී වූ අතර කලා පීඨයේ පීඨාධිපති ඇතුළු ආචාර්ය මණ්ඩලය, මෙම සාමාරම්භක උලෙලේ ප්‍රධාන දේශනය සිදු කල කොළඹ විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ ආර්ථික විද්‍යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ මහාචාර්ය ඩී.ඒ.සී සිල්වා මහතා පළාත් කෘෂිකර්ම අමාත්‍යාංශ ලේකම් ඇතුළු ප්‍රාදේශීය ලේකම් වරුන් රැසක්ද, සබරගමුව විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයේ මහාචාර්ය එම්.එස්.එම්. අස්ලාම් මහතා සහ රජයේ නිලධාරීන් රැසක් සහභාගී විය.

World Tourism Day 2024
World Tourism Day is commemorated annually on 27 September to foster awareness among the international community of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political, and economic value. Tourism can contribute to the SDGs: through quality tourism training, which invests in education and skills; by investing in sustainable infrastructure and accelerating green transformation, including opportunities to decarbonize the sector and promote climate-resilient infrastructure; and through investing in innovation technology, and entrepreneurship that can upskill tourism’s workforce.
The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) designated the Day in September 1979, with the commemoration to commence in 1980. This date commemorates the anniversary of the adoption of the UNWTO Statutes on 27 September 1970.

සංචාරක ව්‍යාපාරයේ වැදගත්කම සහ එහි සමාජ, සංස්කෘතික, දේශපාලනික සහ ආර්ථික වටිනාකම පිළිබඳව ජාත්‍යන්තර ප්‍රජාව දැනුවත් කිරීම සඳහා ලෝක සංචාරක දිනය වාර්ෂිකව සැප්තැම්බර් 27 දින සමරනු ලැබේ. අධ්‍යාපනය සහ කුසලතා සඳහා ආයෝජනය කරන ගුණාත්මක සංචාරක පුහුණුව හරහාත්, තිරසාර යටිතල පහසුකම් සඳහා ආයෝජනය ඇතුළු හරිත පරිවර්තනය වේගවත් කිරීම හරහාත් සංචාරක කර්මාන්තයේ ශ්‍රම බලකාය ඉහළ නැංවිය හැකි නවෝත්පාදන තාක්ෂණය සහ ව්‍යවසායකත්වය සඳහා ආයෝජනය කිරීම හරහාත් සංචාරක ව්‍යාපාරය තිරසර සංවර්ධන අභිමතාර්ථ හා එම ඉලක්ක ඉටු කර ගනීම සදහා දායක වේ.
ලෝක සංචාරක සංවිධානය (UNWTO) විසින් 1979 වර්ශයේදී සැප්තැම්බර් 27 වන දින ලෝක සංචාරක දිනය ලෙස නම් කරන ලදී. මෙම දිනය 1970 සැප්තැම්බර් 27 වන දින UNWTO ප්‍රඥප්තිය සම්මත කිරීමේ සංවත්සරය සමරයි.
