Ich bereite mich auf den Pamir Highway vor. Das Fahrrad wird auf Vordermann gebracht. Nachdem ich einen Visa-Run hinter mich gebracht habe, brauche ich nun noch eine spezielle Bewilligung sowie ein weiteres Dokument. Seit meiner Zeit in Afghanistan habe ich immer wieder mit Magenproblemen zu kämpfen. Es geht zwar langsam bergauf, doch zwei Tage bevor es losgehen soll, erwischt mich eine heftige Magen-Darm-Grippe – mit Fieber, Schüttelfrost und allem, was dazugehört. Es hilft alles nichts: Mit angezogener Handbremse geht’s trotzdem los …. I’m preparing for the Pamir Highway, giving my bike a final thorough tune-up. After completing a visa run, I still need to secure a special permit and yet another document. Ever since my time in Afghanistan, I’ve been struggling with recurring stomach problems. Things were finally starting to improve, but just two days before departure I’m knocked down by a full-blown stomach virus — fever, chills, and everything that comes with it. But there’s no backing out now: with low power, the journey begins…
