Reflecting on Good Friday with Peace and Grace ✝️
On this sacred day of Good Friday, we pause in remembrance of the ultimate sacrifice made in the spirit of love, forgiveness, and hope.

මේ එළඹෙන්නේ බක් මාසයේ පුර පසළොස්වක පොහොය දිනය යි. ශාන්තිනායක වූ අපගේ ගෞතම බුදු සමිඳාණෝ උතුම් සම්බුද්ධත්වයට පැමිණ ඒ වන විට වසර පහක් ගෙවී ගොස් තිබුණි. එකල එළඹුණු බක් පුන් පොහෝ දිනයේ මහා කරුණා සමවතින් ලොව දෙස බලනා සම්බුදු රජාණෝ මේ ලක්දිව සිදුවීමක් දැක වදාළ සේක. ඒ නා රජවරු දෙදෙනෙකු යුධයකට සැරැසී සිටිනා අයුරුයි.

එවකට මේ සිරි ලංකාද්වීපයේ සමුද්‍රෙය් යොදුන් පන්සියයක් දුරට අණසක පැතිරූ මහා බලසම්පන්න මහෝදර නම් නා රජෙක් විය. ඔහුගේ සහෝදරිය කන්වඩමන් නම් පර්වතයේ නා රජු හට පාවා දුන්නාය. ඒ දෙදෙනාට දාව උපන් පුත්‍රයා චූලෝදර නම් විය. චූලෝදර නාගයා ද මුහුදුවැසි නාගයන් මෙන්ම මහා බලසම්පන්න විය. ඉක්බිති මහෝදර ගේ පියා කළුරිය කරද්දී තමා පරිහරණය කළ අගනා මිණිපළඟ චූලෝදර ගේ මෑණියන්ට පවරා දුන්නේය. ඒ මිණිපළඟට ලෝභ වූ මහෝදර සුවිශාල නාග සේනාවක් සමග යුධයට පිවිසුනේය. චූලෝදර ද තම මාමණ්ඩියට එරෙහිව යුධයට සැරසුනේය. මේ මහා සංග්‍රාමය නාගදීපයේ දී සිදුවීමට තිබිණි.
සිදුවීමට යන විනාශය දුටු අනුත්තර පුරිසදම්ම සාරථීන් වහන්සේ ඍද්ධියෙන් නාගදීපයට වැඩම කොට අහසේ වැඩ සිටි සේක. ඒ ගමනට දෙව්රම් වෙහෙර අසළ විමානය කොටගෙන සිටි සමිද්ධි සුමන නම් දෙව්රජු ද කිරිපළ රුකක් ගෙන එය තථාගතයන් වහන්සේ හට ඡත්‍රයක් කොට දරමින් පැමිණියේය. විශාල නා පිරිසක් රැස් වූ ඒ නාගදීප භූමිය බුදුරජුන් ගේ ඍද්ධියෙන් ඝන අන්ධකාර වී ගියේය. එකිනෙකා නොපෙනෙන තරම් දැඩි වූ ඒ අඳුරට බියපත් නාගයෝ විලාප නගන්නට වූහ. එවිට ඒ අඳුර අතරින් ආලෝකධාරා විහිදුවාලමින් සම්බුදු රජාණන් වහන්සේ පෙනී සිටි සේක්, සියල්ලෝම ඒ බුදුරජ වන්දනා කළෝය.

දමනය වූ ඒ නාග පිරිස බුදුරජුන් ගෙන් අභය ඉල්ලුවෝය. මිහිරි සරින් කාකෝලුක ජාතකය, ථන්දන ජාතකය, වට්ටක ජාතකය, ලටුකික ජාතකය ඇසුරින් ගුණමකු බවේත් එකටෙක කිරීමෙත් ආදීනව පහදාලමින් බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේ ඒ මොහොතේ දී නා පිරිවරට ධර්ම දේශනා කොට වදාළ සේක. සසරේ ආදීනව පෙන්වා දී වදාළ සේක. යුධයට සැරැසුණු නා පිරිස එය අවසානයේ සමගි වූහ. බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේ අහසින් බිමට වැඩම කළ කල්හි චූලෝදර හා මහෝදර නා රජවරු දෙදෙනා විසින් ඒ වටිනා මිණිපළඟ පූජා කළේය.
ඒ මිණිපළඟ මත වැඩ සිටි සම්බුදු රජාණන් වහන්සේ අසූ කෝටියක් පමණ වූ ඒ නාග පිරිස තිසරණ සහිත පංච සීලයෙහි පිහිටුවා වදාළ සේක. අනතුරුව පාරිභෝගික වස්තුවක් ලෙස වැදුම් පිදුම් කිරීම පිණිස ඒ වටිනා මිණි පළඟත් කිරිපළු රුකත් නා පිරිසට ම ලබා දුන් සම්බුදු රජාණෝ එදින ම යළි දෙව්රම් වෙහෙර බලා වැඩම කොට වදාළ සේක.
ඉතින් සම්බුදු පියාණන් වහන්සේ ගේ දෙවැනි ලංකාගමනය සිදු වූ මේ පින්බර බක් පොහෝ දිනයේ අපිත් සැදැහැ සිතින් පෙහෙවස් සමාදන් වෙමු.
