📚 Room to Read Sri Lanka Launches Standard Girls’ Education Program in 13 Schools
Room to Read Sri Lanka has launched the Standard Girls’ Education Program (GEP) in 13 schools in the Nikeweratiya Education Zone, located in North Western Province, Sri Lanka.
An introductory session brought together provincial and zonal education officials, Life Skills teachers from the participating schools, and representatives from Room to Read Sri Lanka.
Beginning in 2026, the program will run in 10 Sinhala-medium and 3 Tamil-medium schools and continue through 2030, supporting girls from Grades 6 to 10.
The session covered:
• An introduction to Room to Read and its main programs
• A detailed overview of the Girls’ Education Program and its core components — Life Skills Education, Mentoring, Family–School–Community Engagement (FSCE), and Material Support
• The technical approach used to implement the program at the country level, adapted to location-based realities.
✨ Strengthening support systems that help girls stay in school and build skills for their future.

This , we can do more than celebrate women. We can amplify their brilliance. 💎
Every girl has a light within her. Education refracts that light, allowing her to shine.
This March, in partnership with the Swarovski Foundation that brilliance will shine brighter.
✨ Every dollar raised will inspire more. ✨ Every story shared will illuminate another. ✨ Every girl supported will shape a future defined by her own vision and voice. ✨
