Architect Sumudu Athukorala

A small single-storey house we designed rests quietly on a beautiful suburban plot, bordering a lush expanse of paddy fields. With a modest budget guiding every decision, we explored innovative yet practical details, allowing restraint to shape creativity.

Our aim was to create a home that feels both graceful and grounded—one that belongs to its surroundings. By weaving together tropical sensibilities, traditional warmth, and modern clarity, we shaped this contemporary dwelling.
