Yesterday's session of the SLNHS Monthly Lecture – Sponsored by George Steuart & Company offered a fascinating insight into one of nature's most extraordinary phenomena: bird migration.

Delivered by Prof. Sampath Seneviratne, the lecture explored how advances in geo-tracking technology are transforming our understanding of migratory birds and their remarkable journeys. Participants learned how Sri Lanka serves as a vital stop along the Central Asian Flyway, supporting billions of birds that travel between hemispheres each year, including species capable of crossing some of the world's most formidable mountain ranges.
