Today we visited a toddy state in Sri Lanka and my tourists witnessed the process of making toddy and even got a chance to taste it
Toddy in Sri Lanka is a popular, traditional alcoholic beverage tapped from the sap of coconut, kithul, or palmyrah palm flowers. Fresh, it is sweet and mild, but it ferments quickly to increase alcohol content.
This is another way of provoking Human-Elephant Conflict:
Feeding them causes elephants to associate people with food, which increases the likelihood of dangerous interactions between humans and elephants also Elephants are designed to eat grass, leaves, bark, and fruits.

Today my tourists participated to the “Project Orange-Elephant” mission
“Project Orange-Elephant” – New module implemented by Department of Wild Life Conservation team at Wasgamuwa.
Wasgamuwa is an area where we see elephants and human conflicts due to the loss of habitat for wild elephants.
After long period of observation and many trials they have noticed that elephants are reluctant to enter to the farms which have Orange trees and Lemon trees. So, the main Object of this “Project Orange-Elephant” is to make a natural fence around the cultivation land from Orange and lemon trees, to keep the elephants away from their farms which can help to reduce the elephant and human conflicts. Also from other hand by making a fence from orange trees farmers could earn some extra money as well.
