ADHD awareness is still painfully low in Sri Lanka.
Honestly I haven’t seen schools actively supporting neurodivergent children.
I also haven’t seen consistent conversations about ADHD in classrooms or universities.
And that silence has a cost. I don’t know why we can’t see that yet.
Many children are labeled “lazy,” “difficult,” or “not focused enough”…
when in reality, they may be struggling with something no one has explained to them.
Please understand this 🙏🏻
ADHD is not a discipline problem.
It’s not a lack of intelligence.
It’s not “bad parenting.”
It’s just a different way the brain regulates attention, motivation, and emotions.
When we don’t recognize it early,
* children grow up feeling “not good enough”
* teenagers start to lose confidence
* adults carry shame they don’t understand
Sri Lanka,
We need to talk about ADHD more than ever now.
In our schools.
In our universities.
In our homes.
Because awareness is not just information
it’s relief.
