MY thoughts
We are born, live, and die, often with thoughts of personal gain, pursuing wealth, and focusing only on our own needs. Yet, we share this world with countless other creatures – animals, fellow humans, and the natural environment – ​​all of whom have an equal right to exist and thrive without harm. Unfortunately, the way we produce and consume goods and services in the modern global economy often disregards these rights, leaving a path of destruction in its wake. This disregard has brought us to a point of crisis, with devastating consequences that are manifesting across the planet.

It is our collective responsibility to protect the Earth, not just for ourselves but for future generations and all life. Fantasizing about abandoning our planet to colonize Mars is a stark reflection of humanity’s selfishness and inability to confront the damage we are causing. Instead of fleeing to another planet, we should focus on healing and protecting the only home we already have.

When the tipping point is reached, when the full weight of these consequences falls upon us, there will be no second Earth to run to. Our choices today will determine whether we face renewal in the future or irreparable loss.
