Kala Keerthi Sybil Wettasinghe, the veteran children's book writer and an illustrator, passed away. She was 93 at the time of her demise.
Her books have been translated into several languages
She has been writing and illustrating stories for over 70 years.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා ප්‍රජාතාන්ත්‍රික සමාජවාදී ජනරජයේ 72 වන ජාතික නිදහස් දින සැමරුම අදට (2020.02.04 )යෙදී තිබෙනවා. වසර ගණනාවක් විවිධ විදේශීය ජාතීන්ගේ යටත් විජිතයක්ව පැවති ශ්‍රී ලංකාව එයින් නිදහස ලැබූයේ 1948 වසරේදී ය.
නිදහස දිනා ගැනීම සදහා ගිහි, පැවිදි බොහෝ දෙනා දිවි හිමියෙන් අරගලවල යෙදුණ අතර ඒ ඇතැම් අරගල අවිනේ කළ ඒවා ය , ඇතැම් අරගල පෑනෙන් සහ හඩින් කළ ඒවා .
72 වන ජාතික නිදහස් දිනය සමරන අද ඒ නිදහස ලබාගැනීමට කැපවූ සියළු දෙනා ද අප ගෞරවයෙන් සිහිපත් කළ යුතුයි. ලබාගත් නිදහස අර්ථාන්විතව භුක්ති විදීමට සහ ආරක්ෂා කරගැනීමට ද අදිටන් කර ගනිමු ..!
