KeKu - The Habitat Store is a multifaceted lifestyle destination, offering designer furniture, arts and crafts, lighting fixtures, a fashion boutique, design studio, and a delightful coffee shop. The existing structure, previously used for storage, has undergone a transformation into this vibrant habitat store.

The building's facade has been ingeniously designed as a curtain wall, featuring barrel lids adorned with various furniture shapes and light fixture cutouts on its surface, creating a distinctive identity. This facade allows light to pe*****te, casting a lantern-like glow at night, captivating the curiosity of passersby and beckoning them inside.

The interior showcases a creative use of rustic materials, including wasted mugs, pallet decks, coir ropes, kitchen equipment, and scaffolding. These elements not only enhance the detailing of the showcased items but also align with our commitment to budget-friendly and sustainable design practices..

Dwelling at Gampaha

Construction management- Keystone Building Consultants

Site extent - 40 perch

Area - 5000 sqft

Year - 2021

Located this unique home in Gampaha.
The 5000 square foot home is an open and relaxing environment, which combines with an indoor courtyard to establish a tranquil connect with nature. These flowing living spaces give the homeowner an enriching contrast between life at home and their intense work life. Slatted timber screens protectively encase the exterior of the house to provide shade and light play inside, plus privacy from the street. At night, the timber screened home becomes a mysterious lantern in contemporary linear form.

The series of wooden screens build privacy across the home, allowing the homeowner to freely take the light and ventilation without the wandering eye of the public gaining views directly inside. The wood slatted nature of the exterior is brought across interior expanses to fulfill a restful and seamless cohesion.
