Polar bears are powerful Arctic predators perfectly adapted to life on ice and snow. With thick white fur, a deep layer of blubber, and large paws for swimming and walking on ice, they rely mainly on seals for food. Often called the kings of the Arctic, polar bears spend much of their lives on sea ice and are strong swimmers, capable of traveling long distances between ice floes.
