In May 2026, Chief Fire Officer Ditney Downes, accompanied by the Deputy Chief Fire Officer Anwar Deterville, Sub Officer Shalamia Bisette, and Leading Firefighter Sherise John, proudly represented the Saint Lucia Fire Service at the Caribbean Association of Fire Chiefs (CAFC) Conference held in the Dominican Republic.

During the conference, the officers successfully completed specialized training in Disaster & Emergency Leadership, further strengthening their capacity to lead, coordinate, and respond effectively during emergencies and disasters.

The Saint Lucia Fire Service remains committed to continuous professional development and building a resilient, highly trained organization dedicated to serving and protecting the nation.
