On Thursday, 11th June 2026, the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force, through the Vulnerable Persons Unit (VPU) at the Vieux-Fort Police Station, hosted the official handing-over ceremony of a newly established Interview Room for victims of domestic violence and other vulnerable persons.

The initiative was made possible through the generous support and funding of the French Embassy in Saint Lucia under the Stop Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Project. The facility was created to provide a safe, private, and supportive environment where victims can be interviewed and assisted with dignity and confidentiality.

The event underscored a shared commitment to strengthening protection mechanisms, restoring hope to victims, and advancing the fight against gender-based violence within the community.

The Major Crimes Unit has formally charged a fourth individual in connection with the homicide of twenty-five (25)-year-old Givanni Andrew Joseph, also known as “Zuzu,” who was fatally shot at The Gulf in Ciceron, Castries, on February 21, 2026.

On Thursday, May 28, 2026, twenty-one (21)-year-old Germaine Ishonn Joseph, also known by the aliases “Caco” and “44”, was arrested during a joint police operation at Wilton’s Yard, Castries.

On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, he was formally charged with the offence of murder. He has been remanded to the Bordelais Correctional Facility.

Three other individuals have previously been charged in connection with this matter: twenty-three (23)-year-old Sanjay Papius, alias “Stickman”; twenty-five (25)-year-old Mayim King, alias “Smiley”; and twenty-year-old Vonnelle Degazon.
