HOWTO: Restore connection to a Shelly Switch

Q: My Shelly switch no longer appears on my network and is offline in the app.
(1) Try rebooting your access point or router.

(2) If that doesn't restore the connection, cut power to the device, by throwing a breaker or disconnecting it from the power line.

(3) If it still doesn't appear it's time for a factory reset. For this you must have a switch or pushbutton wired to the "SW" input on your Shelly switch. (Models later than the Shelly 1/2 have a button to perform a reset, but this method will work on all switches.)

Turn off the power at the breaker/fuse box, then restore. Within one minute, go to the switch or pushbutton and cycle 5 times. ON/OFF if it's a switch, or push the button 5 times.
You should hear the relay click rapidly. The Shelly will the be ready to setup again.
Either use the app, or find the SSID broadcast by the Shelly, connect your WiFi and go to its webpage in a browser: http://192.168.33.1

If you haven’t already, you should consider assigning a static IP address to your Shelly device (not just reserved on you router, but set directly on the Shelly device).
