📅On 28–29 January, MIGS attended the kick-off meeting of the WHEEL project in Vienna. The project brings together seven partner organisations from across Europe and is co-funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme.
🚴♀️Led by the Alice Milliat Foundation, WHEEL aims to develop a European programme of therapeutic cycling workshops for women who have experienced sexual and gender-based violence (GBV), drawing on the expertise developed by the French organisation Fifty Fifty.
🎯The project has three key objectives:
● Assess the impact of sport and physical activity on women who are survivors of GBV
● Raise awareness of sport-based therapy for survivors of GBV
● Train professionals in this innovative and supportive approach
🔍 MIGS will lead the project’s research activities, helping to develop a robust evidence base on the impact of sport and physical activity for women who are survivors of GBV.
🤝We’re proud to be part of this important European initiative and look forward to the work ahead!
