The Port of Beirut and the Lebanese Higher Customs Council have signed a new agreement to strengthen cargo inspection operations through advanced scanning systems.
Supported by CMA CGM, the scanners are now fully operational and aim to improve inspection speed, transparency, security, and customs efficiency.
Officials also highlighted upcoming digital upgrades, including AI-powered image analysis and modern customs systems, as part of Lebanon’s broader efforts to modernize trade operations and support economic recovery.
