Project managers are not required to be the leading expert on a technical project.

In fact, not being an expert can actually provide you with the insight to ask appropriate questions, question prevailing beliefs, and concentrate on ex*****on rather than minutiae.

The fixation on transforming project managers into part-time engineers, designers, or financial analysts overlooks a crucial factor: your capabilities lie in coordination, effective communication, and making decisions in high-pressure situations.

Do you grasp the field? Certainly, but being the specialist? That isn’t essential.

The true strength of a project manager resides in their ability to provide clarity, not in programming skills.
