Last week, community members in Aley came together for “A Starting Point…”, a theatre performance initiated by Tabitha as part of the 16 Days of Activism campaign against gender-based violence. The piece highlighted real-life situations faced by women and girls to spark dialogue on GBV and its impact.
Special appreciation goes to the team, facilitators, and local partners who created a safe and supportive environment for participants to listen, reflect, and share their experiences. Art-based approaches continue to play a vital role in opening community conversations, challenging harmful norms, and strengthening referral pathways.
With support from the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI), Tabitha for Relief and Development works to prevent and respond to gender-based violence, empowering women and girls through community support and awareness programs.

اجتمع أفراد المجتمع في عاليه الأسبوع الماضي لحضور عرض مسرحي بعنوان "نقطة بداية "…وهو مبادرة من منظمة طابيثا ضمن حملة الـ16 يوم لمناهضة العنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي. تناول العرض مواقف واقعية تواجهها النساء والفتيات، واستخدم المسرح لفتح نقاشات حول العنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي وتأثيراته.
تقدير خاص للفريق، وللميسّرين، وللشركاء المحليين الذين ساهموا في توفير مساحة آمنة وداعمة، مكّنت المشاركين من الاستماع والتفكير ومشاركة تجاربهم. تظل الأساليب القائمة على الفنون أداة فعّالة لفتح الحوار المجتمعي، وتحدي الممارسات الضارة، وتعزيز مسارات الإحالة.
بدعم من الصندوق الكندي للمبادرات المحلية (CFLI)، تواصل منظمة طابيثا للإغاثة والتنمية جهودها في الوقاية من العنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي والتصدي له، من خلال جلسات التوعية، وأنشطة المشاركة المجتمعية، وبرامج تمكين النساء والفتيات.

As part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, Tabitha’s Batroun team collaborated with Holy Family University to host an awareness event on cyberabuse for students across various faculties.
The program featured an interactive presentation on the campaign’s theme, defining cyberabuse, and providing practical strategies for staying safe online.
Students then engaged in several activity stations, including interactive games and creative exercises, designed to promote responsible digital behavior and encourage proactive support for peers who may be experiencing online abuse.
In addition, informational leaflets on cyberabuse and gender-based violence were distributed to raise awareness and provide further guidance on prevention and support.

بمناسبة حملة 16 يومًا لمناهضة العنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي، تعاون فريق طابيثا في البترون مع جامعة العائلة المقدسة لاستضافة نشاط توعوي حول العنف الإلكتروني لطلاب من مختلف الكليات.
تضمن البرنامج عرضًا تفاعليًا حول موضوع الحملة، تعريفًا بالعنف الإلكتروني، وتقديم استراتيجيات عملية للحماية عبر الإنترنت.
بعد ذلك، شارك الطلاب في محطات تفاعلية تضمنت ألعابًا وأنشطة إبداعية تهدف إلى تعزيز السلوكيات الرقمية الآمنة وتشجيع الدعم الفعّال للأصدقاء الذين قد يتعرضون للإساءة الإلكترونية.

Many boys face pressure online to joke or act “cool,” even when something feels wrong. This campaign encourages young boys to recognize harmful dynamics and choose healthier ways to engage.
Tabitha for Relief and Development works to prevent and respond to tech-facilitated GBV, through advocating for digital safety and awareness for youth across communities.
