Eight team members were honored and privileged to represent the in the opening Parade of Nations during the Vex World Robotics Competition on April 28 in St. Louis, Missouri. Our youngest and oldest team members carried the Cayman flag on the stage to the cheers and applause of thousands of fellow teams, competitors and supporters from 50+ other countries and nations.
The calls of two Cayman conch shells - just like Cayman fishermen of days past - were also a beacon... their sound only eclipsed only by the audience's enthusiasm in a stadium that can hold 1/3 of Cayman's population.

When You Press the Wrong Button - team :
🗨️This meme is of a robot that was supposed to turn, but instead reversed, pushing all of the pin-stacks into the stand off goal causing them to fall down on impact, creating a mess of pins we weren’t able to pick up.
This experience actually happened to us at our first robot skills competition, where we got the images from.
As hilarious and disappointing as this experience was, it helped us learn the power of teamwork, for many reasons. Instead of quitting or moping around, we practiced and as a team worked out how to solve this problem to ensure it didn’t happen again. This resulted in us actually being able to reach our goal later that day. Next, our team realised that we all have different talents, but each of them is important.
