🚀 Joint Workshop: SSHS, ARML, and STAR Lab
On January 22, 2026, our lab, in collaboration with the Aerospace Robotics and Mechanism Lab (ARML) and the Space Testing and Payload SensoR (STAR) Lab, hosted a joint workshop to highlight the latest research development of the labs. Students from all three labs presented their progress from the second half of 2025 and outlined their plans for the first half of 2026.
The event was organized by Professors Jae-Hung Han (SSHS), Dae-Young Lee (ARML), and Hyun-Jung Kim (STAR), offering students a unique opportunity to connect and exchange ideas across labs. The insightful feedback from our professors provided valuable perspectives, underscoring the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in advancing aerospace research.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in the workshop; your hard work and dedication were key to its success!

🌟 SSHS at the 2026 AIAA SciTech Forum 🌟
Research Professor Reynolds Addo-Akoto and PhD student Robel Hagos represented our lab at the 2026 AIAA SciTech Forum in Orlando, Florida, from January 12-16. The forum, one of the largest gatherings of aeronautical and aerospace professionals, brought together over 6,000 participants from 48 countries, including researchers, students, and industry stakeholders. This year’s theme, "Breaking Barriers Together: Boundless Discovery," highlighted the collaborative spirit of the aerospace community.
Presentations:
• Dr. Reynolds presented his work on the "Influence of Pitching Axis Location on the Aerodynamics of Asynchronous Pitching and Decelerating Wings."
• Robel shared his research on "Primary DOF Selection via QR Pivoting for Physical-Type Dynamic Condensation and Substructuring."
We’re proud of their contributions to the field and the opportunity to engage with leading experts in the aerospace community.
