Vientiane to Luang Prabang High Speed Train that goes all the way to Kunming. Quite an impressive bit of infrastructure and beautiful views along the way. Good for tourists (especially a lot of Chinese in LP and VTN now). We were 30 minutes late waiting in a tunnel for the train coming the other way which seemed a bit odd. 'High speed' compared with the old lines in Cambodia but just seemed normal speed for Europe.

Many publications on record temperatures in SE Asia this month. My station agrees as recorded over 40 for the first time: Can the trend of 1 degree per decade be sustained I wonder.
