Great opportunity to visit our partners, CEPA in Stung Treng province, and the 3S Rivers Protection Network (3SPN) in Ratanakiri province, to mark our potential collaboration in promoting meaningful disability inclusion within our joint program on inclusive water governance and climate resilience.
Very productive discussions with many practical ideas and concrete actions ahead.

In Ratanakiri, 29 Indigenous people with disabilities from the Kroeung community took part in disability inclusion training delivered by PAfID and CARE, in partnership with the local organisation of persons with disabilities. The training focused on practical ways to overcome barriers that can prevent people with disabilities from accessing information, services, and opportunities.

Participants also discussed key social protection pathways, including IDPoor registration, disability identification, and the Family Package Program, so support can reach people and families who need it most. This is part of ongoing work to strengthen inclusion and ensure no one is left behind.

Supported by the Australian Government, through the Australia Cambodia Cooperation for Equitable Sustainable Services - Phase 2 (ACCESS 2).

In collaboration with CARE under the ACCESS 2 Program to strengthen disability-inclusive services for Indigenous Peoples and as part of our ongoing commitment to promoting disability inclusion and gender equality, PAfID conducted a two-day training on disability inclusion for 34 members (22 women) of the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Responsive Working Group in Ratanakiri province on 11–12 November 2025.

The GBV Working Group, a government-led coordination mechanism, plays a key role in responding to GBV cases and promoting gender equality at the sub-national level. Through this training, PAfID helped strengthen the group’s capacity to ensure that the rights and needs of persons with disabilities are meaningfully included in planning, decision-making, and service delivery.

This initiative supports Cambodia’s commitments under the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD), the National Disability Strategic Plan (NDSP), and the National Action Plan to Prevent Violence Against Women (NAPVAW) that's working towards a society where no one is left behind in GBV prevention and response efforts.

We sincerely thank the Provincial Coordination Committee, ACCESS 2 Program, CARE, and all relevant stakeholders and authorities for their active engagement and strong collaboration in making this effort possible.
