GENERAL: This specification covers the design and performance of the single mode optical cables to be used in dierct buried and duct application. This cable shall fully comply with ITU-T G.652.D, IEC, EIA standards, TCVN 68-160: 2008

CABLE DESIGN: o 02 or 04 single mode fibres contained in loose buffer tubes. o Operating wavelength at 1310nm and 1550nm. o FRP central strength member. o Loose buffer tubes SZ stranded. o Buffer fully filled with filling Gel compound. o Water blocking tape and yarn. o Inner PE jacket or equivalent material. o Steel tape armour (PSP) o Outer HDPE jacket or equivalent material o Suitable as direct buried (DB) and duct

CABLE MAKE UP: o Around a fibre FRP central strength member, buffer tubes and if necessary filling elements are stranded to form the core of the cable. o The central strength member serving mainly as antibuckling element. o The buffer tube contains up to fibres and is filled with filling compound o As well the core is wrapped with water blocking tape and yarn in order to block any possible water ingress. o Inner PE jacket layer with min. thickness 0.7 mm. o Steel tape armour layer with thickness 0.15 mm will protect the cable from rodents. o Finally the HDPE jacket is extruded around the steel tape armour layer to protect the whole cable with min. thickness is 1.5 mm.
