DAY 1: Gender champion training is taking place in Kimuka village, targeting self-help group representatives.

Access to and control over resources are important topics for household discussions involving both men and women. Sharing diverse skills and capacities at the family level is essential.

Additionally, efforts are being made to strengthen gender-related aspects of complaint, feedback, and reporting mechanisms among 22 self-help groups supported by MIDI.

The Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) model helps women save money to improve their lives. It also gives them a voice in making financial decisions and encourages them to invest.

This model is used by 22 MIDI self-help groups, and most members, 87% are women.

For example, women in Oloserian have increased their savings three times from the first year to the third year, thanks to the positive effects of this program. Mennonite Central Committee - MCC James Kanyari Clair Good Amos Koitee Josphine Kanamo Joel Lankas Ole Koyei
