KSG Under the Tree Series concluded on a high note in Turbi, with 107 youth graduating after a week-long training facilitated by Dr. Ann Kangethe, Laban Musundi, Mohamed Kalmey, and CPA John Njiru of Kenya School of Government Embu. The programme equipped participants with practical skills in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, procurement opportunities, life skills, civic education, and national values.

During the closing ceremony, the Chief Guest, Prof. Nura Mohamed, PhD., EBS, Director General of the Kenya School of Government, awarded 20 online scholarships for KSG certificate and diploma programmes. Partners including PACIDA Kenya, Caritas, The GOLF Hotel Kakamega, and the Equalization Fund further supported the community through donations of computers, stationery, sanitary supplies, and foodstuffs.

The initiative was spearheaded by Kenya School of Government Embu Campus, demonstrating the power of partnerships in empowering youth and transforming communities.

This week, Turbi has become a vibrant space for learning, dialogue, and opportunity as the KSG Under the Tree Series continues its journey across Kenya.

Led by the Kenya School of Government's Embu Campus under the leadership of Dr. Ann Kangethe, participants from across the community have come together to engage in conversations that matter and build skills that transform lives.

Since 8th June 2026, young people have been sharpening their entrepreneurial competencies through practical sessions, group presentations, and interactive discussions focused on unlocking local opportunities and shaping a prosperous future for their communities.

Women entrepreneurs have also taken part in sessions on business planning, financial management, enterprise growth, and sustainable livelihoods, equipping themselves with tools to strengthen their economic resilience.

Beyond the training sessions, the spirit of the Under the Tree Series is evident in the shared experiences, meaningful conversations, and collective commitment to community development. Every discussion, idea, and interaction reflects the power of bringing people together to learn, collaborate, and create solutions from the ground up.

Behind this impactful engagement lies dedicated planning, strong partnerships, and a shared vision of empowering citizens through knowledge, dialogue, and action.

KSG Embu Campus has officially launched the first engagement under the Series, an innovative outreach approach designed to bring learning, skills development, and government services closer to communities.

The Program on Entrepreneurship for Youth Engaged in SMEs has convened young entrepreneurs, aspiring business owners, and community members in Turbi, Marsabit County, to explore practical pathways for enterprise growth, economic empowerment, and sustainable livelihoods.

Under the open skies of Marsabit, participants are engaging in practical, solution-oriented conversations on entrepreneurship, business development, and access to government programmes that can transform ideas into viable and sustainable enterprises.

Kenya School of Government’s commitment to inclusive capacity development, extending training beyond conventional classrooms into communities where it can generate the greatest impact continues to gain traction among citizens.

We celebrate the resilience, creativity, and enterprise of young people driving local economic transformation across Marsabit.
