Today marks a significant milestone as we officially launch the 10th Edition of the Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme (KICP).
For the past decade, KICP has stood as a pillar of ecosystem restoration, sustainable livelihoods and climate resilience, an enduring journey defined by purpose, collaboration and measurable impact.
The 10th Edition celebrations is scheduled for 11 July 2026 and will be graced by H.E. President Dr. William Ruto.

Today, the Chief Conservator of Forests, Alex Lemarkoko, launched the fencing exercise for the Kaptagat Forest ecosystem at Sabor Forest Station, covering 273 kilometres across Kessup, Sabor, Penon, Kaptagat, and Kipkabus forest blocks.
This initiative will go a long way in strengthening and sustaining ongoing conservation efforts, protecting this critical water tower and preserving biodiversity for future generations.

Today, our Patron Dr. Chris Kiptoo joined the 10km Run for Oloolua in Oloolua Forest, a vital green space bordering Nairobi.
Oloolua Forest plays a critical role in environmental conservation, water catchment, tourism, recreation, and cultural heritage, while supporting rich biodiversity.
The run, an initiative aimed at fencing and protecting the forest, was led by PS Ephantus Kimotho Kimani - PS
Also present were PS Patrick Mariru, PS Festus Ng’eno, and PS Korir Sing’oei.
This initiative underscores the importance of collective action in safeguarding our forests for present and future generations.
Yesterday, Hillary Kiplagat Kibiwott set a remarkable new benchmark in conservation by planting 23,326 trees within 24 hours at Kessup Forest Block.
The feat, now awaiting official world record verification, stands as a powerful statement in the push for reforestation.
