Every story a child reads introduces them to new worlds, new ideas, and new possibilities. A book can spark a dream, answer a question, inspire a solution, or simply remind a child that their voice and their story matter. When reading becomes enjoyable, learning becomes something children look forward to rather than something they have to do.
Last Friday, we celebrated the opening of a new library at Utumishi SACCO Primary School in partnership with Sukuma Twende Trust. Together, we donated 1,000 storybooks that will give learners countless opportunities to discover the magic of reading and develop a lifelong love for books.
While the library's shelves are now filled with stories, the real impact will unfold in the months and years ahead. It will be seen in children gathering around books during their free time, eagerly turning pages to find out what happens next, strengthening their literacy skills without even realizing it because they are enjoying the journey.
We are grateful to Sukuma Twende Trust for walking this journey with us and for investing in a future where every child has the opportunity to read, learn, and dream.
