A Form Four student at St. Albertina Kiongwani Girls High School, who had been suspended after being found with chewing gum and instructed to buy gum worth Ksh 16,800, an amount her mother could not afford has now been readmitted following the intervention of local leaders.
On Thursday, education officials from Makueni County and Mukaa Sub-County held a lengthy meeting with the Board of Management, the principal, and the student's mother, Virginia Maweu, where it was resolved that the suspension be lifted and the girl allowed back to school unconditionally.
